About Libby Corcoran, P.T., Advanced A.R.T. Allergy Release Technique Practitioner®
I discovered A.R.T. Allergy Release Technique® after many years of searching for an answer to my son’s many anaphylactic food allergies. He was severely allergic to all of the “Top 8” allergens plus many more. He lived the first 8 years of his life being fearful and unable to eat most foods. Then we discovered A.R.T. After going through the process, he can now safely and freely eat the foods that previously would have been life threatening. This amazing transformation led me to pursue my passion to learn all there is to know about this groundbreaking therapy. I trained extensively Amy Thieringer, the founder of A.R.T., and left my career in Physical Therapy to focus on providing this life changing treatment.
Life With An Allergic Child
The anxiety of being the parent of a food allergic child is unbearable at times. You feel alone and isolated. How could others possibly understand that one small drop of harmless food to most, could be deadly to my child? I was the ultimate helicopter mom, I had to be. I attended all play dates, birthday parties, school activities, sporting events, etc. I was always on the lookout for potential dangers for my son. There was no spontaneity in our lives. Everything had to be carefully planned so that we were always equipped with safe foods and meds at all times and for all situations.
Despite being overly diligent, accidental exposures to his allergens occurred. My son has needed several Epi-pens due to anaphylactic reactions, which included ambulance rides and hospital visits. He was always a trooper. After all, he didn’t know life any differently. However, as he got older, he began to notice that he didn’t get to enjoy that fancy birthday cake that everyone was eating. He began to wonder why his pizza looked so different than everyone else’s. It was heartbreaking to watch him cry over all that he was missing.
Then one day I found A.R.T., and learned how it was helping kids with their severe food allergies. I put my son on the waitlist where he remained until he got the call that he could begin the treatment. After going through the A.R.T. process, he is now able to eat his former allergens freely without fear. I will be forever grateful for how it has changed our lives, and am so proud to be able to offer this treatment to others.
